Mike Kreps, Groom Law Group, and Erik Pickett, Chief Product Officer Club Vita US, discuss whether we have reached the upper limit of lifespans in the USA.
Erik discusses how recent headlines about stalling life expectancy improvements have focused on average life expectancy and do not tell the whole story of what is happening in the US. Different socio-economic groups are having very different experiences, with strong improvements still being seen for some sections of society.
Erik goes on to point out that there is still plenty of headroom for life expectancy to improve in the US, highlighting that medical advances and improvements to lifestyle could result in some significant gains.
The headlines say that life expectancy has stopped improving, but that refers to average life expectancy and the average really doesn’t tell the whole story.
On our travels we get asked many interesting questions: Is longevity risk actually important? Have we reached the limit of life expectancy? Is Club Vita a night club / sports team / all-inclusive holiday company?
Here our team answer some of the more frequent questions we are asked. If you have more questions that we haven’t covered, please get in touch.
